Time Stands Still is a 1982 Hungarian film classic about two brothers and the woman they both love, their families, teachers, and friends, all living in Budapest in 1963, following the uprising of 1956.

The mother raises her two children alone, their father left the country in 1956. The teenagers have to grow up in the shifting political moral landscape of post-1956 Hungary. Dini attends the grammar school, Gábor prepares himself for the university of medicine. Dini is in love with Szukics Magda and admires Pierre, who knows and dares everything.

The film won the Award of the Youth at Cannes, the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Foreign Language Film and the award for Best Director at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
